Yeah riiight.
This is typical of the crap that the anti-Bush mob have been churning out in the last few days. I can cope with this type of propaganda from Mike Moore, in fact I expect it. What annoys me more is the arrogance of some other people who say such dumb things like the American people are "obviously stupid", "complete morons", or even "truly retarded". One caller to talk-back radio proclaimed yesterday that the American people "got it wrong" and "can't be trusted be democracy." All this type of talk is self pity dipped in more than just a little bit of arrogance. I admire, and enjoy spirited political debate, but I abhor these type of arguments. They are boring, un-creative and dare I say it- dumb. The lunatics are certainly on parade.
The American people (whilst being many things) arent' stupid. As Andrew Bolt pointed out today, Americans have built themselves the richest
economy, strongest military and most vibrant democracy. They also have
the best film industry, and the most orchestras. These aren't signs of
stupidity.
And at the end of the day, the American people have returned President Bush with a clear majority
of the popular vote - over 3.5 million votes clear of John Kerry. That means that 51% (59,424,706) of Americans like Bush. They see him as patriotic, family-centred
and self-disciplined. He is also teetotal, conservative, and Christian.
He supports marriage, and opposes abortion and homosexual marriage. I think that this makes him a bit old-fashioned but
quite obviously millions of Americans like old-fashioned values.... and good luck to them.
I don't agree with everything George Bush does or says, but I am above simply calling him a silly moron with blood on his hands. So folks, you can continue to sulk and mope about for another four years (some of you have even decided that you will live in fear!), or you can get over it, move on and focus on what is truly important Chin up!
