Great article in todays Age about Bloggers and the current Australian Election campaign -Keys to Power.
"When Australia went to the polls three years ago only 50 per cent of Australians regularly used the internet. That figure is now 77 per cent, according to management and technology consulting group Accenture,"
With this in mind, the authors Mathew Murphy and Guy Burgess have looked up the people behind the politically oriented blogs which have prolifereted in the lead up to the election. The article offers some great insights into the bloggers behind the blog; their motives, their backgrounds and the influence they are having,
And remembering that Seth once said that I am a journalist, I liked this in particular:
"The big threat is that what's appearing in the blogging world is sometimes superior to what's produced by people who get paid to write in the mainstream media. And bloggers are also calling mainstream journalists to account, by saying you've got this fact wrong"

P.S. Last post I promised to examine some of the language being bandied about in the current election campaign, and I thought I'd start by having a look through Mark Lathams launch speech from yesterday, and will report tomorrow
