What a week it has been for Mark Latham!
And while questions regarding his past and his economic credibility continue to remain unanswered, an embittered old rival of Mark Latham poses these questions (care of crikey.com.au):
Latham's held no real job other than Liverpool Mayor, and it was a debacle. So if you want to ask questions, how about:
* Did you threaten to 'beat the sh*te out of' a Liberal Alderman when he questioned you about fiscal irregularities in Council, and you had to be held back from thumping him by Craig Knowles on the Council floor?
* Did you attempt to employ Labor powerbroker and then ALP Candidate for Camden Peter Primrose as a Council staffer, without advertising the position, only to back down when the rort was exposed?
* Why is it that every Labor person you ever dealt with on Council considers you a lying, back-stabbing careerist who would do anything to get ahead?
* What was your role in the stolen ballot box matter before the Liverpool State preselection?
* Why did you launch multiple false and vexatious complaints against other Aldermen after they exposed the rorting done by your mentor Pat Pantaleo (who was sacked from Council following an ICAC investigation)?
Yep, The honeymoon appears over for Latham, his wagon seems to be careering downhill pretty quickly at the moment....The recent political developments, muck raking and tears has seen the Coalition firm as favourites to win the election.
Even the bookmakers seem to be taking more money on the Coalition to win the election. The latest odds from Alice Springs bookie, Centrebet, shows that the Coalition is $1.55 with the ALP at $2.30 with punters judging the Coalition an even stronger strong favourite to win than a week ago. In percentage terms and allowing for the bookies margin, this represents the Coalition a 61% chance versus a 39% chance for the ALP.
But it is worth noting, however, that the Coalition is an even hotter favourite than Portugal was to win Euro2004 on last Sunday morning against the untried, untested yet gutsy Greeks...
With all this happening August 7 was never gonna happen!
